The road to Katie Cruise

It seems only yesterday that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise started dating. Well it was April, the same month that Katie ended it with long term boyfriend Chris Klein. Though there was a few weeks between each event.

Since then it has just been a whirlwind of news as the two proclaimed their love for each other across the media. There may be sixteen years between them but never the less the news came this week that the two are engaged.

The rumours began at the end of April that Katie was dating Tom. In fact by the end of April they had already shared several dates. By the start of May everyone was talking about it – pictures, articles, updates they bombarded the inbox of Katie Holmes Planet.

Of course the media backlash soon followed – by May 3rd certain media sources were already saying that the relationship with a publicity stunt. Then again how many relationships don’t get some knocking?

They didn’t care much anyway; they were spending a romantic weekend in Rome. Then from Rome on to Las Vegas where Tom even took Katie to a show or the adult orientation of the rumours are true.

The romance continued – Entertainment Tonight was soon delivering the buzz and Access Hollywood was publishing quotes from Tom about how much he loved Katie. This moved on to Tom jumping up and down on the sofa of on Oprah.

Then there were the movie rumours. Katie turning down roles in the advice of Tom (Factory Girl), changing her representation to the same as his? And after Lindsay Lohan announced she all but had Mission Impossible 3 in the bag, Katie was the top bet for getting the part.

Early June saw Tom introduce Katie to scientology while FreeKatie.net began campaigning to free her from the relationship. Some media backslash was expected but by now it was way beyond this. Didn’t anyone believe in the relationship?

Finally it happened. In late June using the romantic backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, Tom proposed to Katie and she said yes. If there is one thing for sure, this story is going to be an interesting one to watch.
